Going up the road from Pietrasanta to Arni towards Castelnuovo meets the country Levigliani starting point for visiting the Cavern of Corchia.
The country Levigliani, 600 md'altitudine, behind the massive walls towering on the southern slopes of Mount Corchia (1678 m). The entrance to the cave tour is over 2 km from the town. Is a few minutes and marble road which goes back, with a few bends, up to an altitude of 860 m. The route is traveled by bus to the entrance to the Cavern of artificial Corchia. The connecting tunnel seems a natural continuation, underground, the external front of the marble quarrying.
Continue slightly uphill for about 170 m in length, over a drop of 20 mile. The depth of the artificial conduit is not fully detectable by the presence of three doors in succession, separating as many segments of the tunnel closing to "seal air.

The cave was discovered in 1841 by geologist leviglianese Giuseppe Simi. In 1847 Joseph's son, Emilio, Paolo Savi published along with the first topographic survey (which covered only 200 m from the cave) and gave him the name of Buca Aeolus, the strong wind that emanated from the mouth In 1983, a group of cavers demonstrated for the first time Fifhiera Abyss, and Abyss Farolfi Cavern of Corchia are different parts of a single huge underground structure, which comes as the total depth of 1210 m: the deepest in Italy, the tenth in the world!
Since then, many other links between the three caves have been explored and many others remain to be explored for the moment have been explored in fact "only" 50 km of tunnels.
